Proposed 2021 Budget
The budget that the Table is recommending for 2021 assumes a minimal increase in offering income (less than 1%) from the current year budget, and considers the core ministry program sections as 'buckets' that remain roughly the same as 2020 in case we can meet in person again, but with flexibility to adapt according to the situation. A few new things we're planning within the core ministries include: sending song leaders to an AMBS workshop, adding $1,000 to a reparations fund as seed money for reparations activities, and start up costs for Family Promise. Staff salaries will remain the same as 2020, but health care premiums will increase 1.7% from 2020, and we expect higher internet/videoconferencing costs. All of our current broader church and community partner contributions remain the same as in 2020. We are grateful for your generosity that sustains the ministry and programs of our congregation.
Leadership Table Nominations
(Leadership Table Chair)
As the Leadership Table Chair, Dave's responsibilities will be providing direction and leadership for the Leadership Table. He has served in a leadership role in the PMC’s Stephen Ministry and as a worship leader, adult Sunday school teacher, children’s worship leader, and Adult Ed committee member. Dave runs a small grant writing consulting firm and is currently working toward an MDiv degree at AMBS. Dave and Kristialyn are the parents of 9-year-old Beckett and almost-7 Sadie Jo.
As the Worship Elder, Sarah’s responsibilities will include collaborating with pastoral staff to attend to the congregation’s spiritual needs as we invite the Holy into our worship, work, and relationships. Sarah has been active at PMC since her return to Oregon in 2016. She has served as an occasional Sunday school teacher, worship leader, and sound person. Sarah has a BA in Elementary Education and works as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoys live theatre, karaoke, and sewing clothing.
As the Facilities Elder, Ed's responsibilities will include maintaining and improving our church building and supporting the worship and mission of PMC. Ed (and Phyllis) arrived in Portland almost three years ago and Ed has been active in unofficial church maintenance since arrival. Ed's background is in business management in different capacities and has facilities experience. Ed and Phyllis live in N. Portland where he is essentially retired but keeps busy with building projects and helping out as grandpa.
