Congregational Meeting  / December 14
10:30-noon

Agenda:

  • Affirm our 2026 budget,
  • Affirm new Table Members,
  • Make a decision to invite Kevin Seidel to be our next lead pastor.

All three agenda items require a congregational vote.

2026 Budget

The 2026 budget is based on the vision of our Congregational Core Ministries matched with the yearly pledges of the congregation. Below is a link to view the 2026 proposed budget which we will vote to affirm. Questions about this budget or the process should be directed to our treasure, Joe Blowers, prior to the congregational meeting.

Decision to invite Kevin Seidel to be our next lead pastor

The Process at the Congregational Meeting
On December 14, (during this agenda item) we will spend time in small groups for congregational discernment. We will be invited to share concerns we may have, as well as our hopes and excitement about what Kevin’s leadership as our new lead pastor might bring. This conversation time is meant simply to help us listen to one another and gain a clearer sense of our collective thoughts and feelings during this important moment in the life of our congregation.

We will vote on inviting Kevin using our consensus model.
The ballot will have 4 choices:
  1. I vote yes with no concerns
  2. I vote yes but have concerns
  3. I vote no but will respect the decision of the congregation
  4. I vote no. I have major concerns
Our by-laws require us to pass decisions of this magnitude with an 80% yes (In this case both a 1 vote and a 2 vote will be counted as a yes and will count toward the 80% requirement.)

A note on Process:
  • If the congregational vote affirms Kevin then an official invitation will be offered to Kevin for the position of lead pastor.
  • Kevin will have the opportunity to respond with a yes or no out of his own discernment regarding this calling.
  • If Kevin accepts this role, a start date will be negotiated and the congregation will be informed about when we expect to welcome him at PMC.
Discernment prior to our vote
There are two times to meet and discuss with others at PMC your thoughts and feelings about this important decision before the vote.

#1 Monday, December 8 at 6:30 pm at the church. If you desire the chance to talk to others about the decision to invite Kevin Seidel as our next lead pastor or you know you will miss the congregational meeting on the 14th, please consider joining us on this night. (Those who can't attend the congregational meeting on the 14th will be given an option to place a vote at this event.)

#2 During the congregational meeting on December 14.
