Supporting a church we love through GENEROSITY...
Friends of Portland Mennonite Church,
When we lived in Kansas I heard a priest say, 'God often draws straight with crooked lines.' There have been a lot of crooked lines in the last 18 months - COVID, protests for racial justice, forest fires, deep cultural rifts. Earlier this summer, it looked like we were straight on our way to the end of this pandemic; now it doesn't seem so. As we make plans for 2022, there likely will be more crooked lines. Whatever lies ahead, though, we trust that God is calling us straight toward the promise and hope of the Beloved Community.
As we prepare a budget for 2022, we invite you to generously support the core ministries of PMC (Worship, Faith Formation for all ages, Congregational Life, Community Outreach), as well as ministries of the broader Church. To fully fund what we hope to do in 2022 will require a 5% increase in giving. Admittedly that is a stretch in these unsettled times, but now, especially, we are called to 'do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly together with God.'
Whatever you are able to give, we would very much like to hear from everyone by October 10. You can use the on-line pledge form or you can directly contact our Treasurer, Linda Wenning, or our Administrator, Rachel Joy.
Thank you for your commitment to PMC,

We invite you to use the online form to submit your pledge. However, if you wish to simply contact Rachel Joy, church administrator, through email or by phone, we are happy to receive your pledge and/or comments that way as well. The information you entrust is seen only by the church Finance Committee made up of Karen Nussbaum, Linda Wenning, and Rachel Joy. The Leadership Table uses aggregate pledge data to budget for the coming year.
