CONSIDERING A MENNONITE COLLEGE...
Attending a Mennonite school allows our questions of faith to always be in conversation with what we are learning about our broader world. This practice, at its essence, is catechism, the shaping of a mature follower of Jesus in the world. |
One way to think about the decision to attend a Mennonite/Anabaptist college is that it is an opportunity to connect your education with your desire to follow Jesus. What happens to most of us during our college years is that we begin to form a worldview that helps us navigate our lives and relationships. Attending a Mennonite school allows our questions of faith to always be in conversation with what we are learning about our broader world. This practice is at its essence is catechism, the shaping of a mature follower of Jesus in the world. This of course can happen anywhere if one is intentional about it but it remains a very good reason to consider attending a Mennonite school. If you would like to talk more about this big decision please contact Curt Weaver. (And yes, he graduated from EMU a LONG time ago.)
