Are you new to using the PMC Nursery?

Welcome. We are always happy to see new faces! Our goal is to keep your child(ren) safe, comfortable, and content while you're worshiping, mingling with other churchgoers, drinking a coffee, or having a moment to yourself. We are happy to try to meet any of your family's needs. Please simply communicate with one of our staff or volunteers.

Here are some things to keep in mind
  • We have a baby monitor set up in the small kitchen just off the Old Chapel. It's available at all times if you want to check on your little one.
  • We can change your baby's diaper or help them use the potty if, for whatever reason, you're not comfortable with this. Please let us know during drop-off, and we will text you when your child needs to go potty.
  • Sometimes, if one of our small humans gets a little disruptive or needs a little break, we will have one of our staff walk them out of the nursery to get water or visit the church library. If you are uncomfortable with your kiddo leaving the nursery room, please tell us; we are happy to find alternatives.
  • Your child is welcome to bring a snack or drink.  Just remember, we have a no-nuts policy at PMC to protect members with severe allergies.

Meet our PMC Nursery Coordinator...

Birdie Lutz

Birdie has grown up here at PMC and is presently in her first year at Portland State. She looks forward to getting to know the children and families that will use the nursery this coming year. Our Safe Child policy requires that there are two adults present in spaces where our children are. Below is a Goggle Doc to sign up to volunteer. Thank you!

what to expect...

Dropping off...

  1. You will be asked to register your child if it is the first time they are using the nursery.
  2. A name tag will be placed on your child's clothing and you will be given a matching tag with your child's name which will be needed when you pick up your child.
  3. A phone number is required that you can be reached at during the time your child is in the nursery.
  4. You are welcome to stay with your child but our hope is that the nursery provides parents and guardians an opportunity to engage in activities like Sunday school and the worship service.

Picking up...

  1. Line up on right side of the door.
  2. Hand the nursery coordinator the name tag sticker with your child's name.
  3. Remember to gather your child's belongings.
  4. Exit the space as soon as possible to lessen confusion.
