Here are some of the wonderful results: On Saturday, June 27 our desire to celebrate our LGBTQ brothers and sisters went on parade despite the Covid 19 pandemic. May God's Love embrace us all and flow through us to the world!
The strange feeling of just a few of us gathering in an empty church to broadcast our service to Facebook Live.
Britt delivered our advent collection today to Street Roots; items from sleeping bags to toothbrushes and everything in between completely filled the car, and the staff and vendors who helped unload were amazed to receive the much-needed items. Thank you to all who contributed!
Help shape the retreat in 2020...
The Justice Committee welcomes everyone
to join us for a plant-based potluck. The evening will also include a short, interactive segment on climate change. We are looking forward to a fun and meaningful time as we learn to eat and live in more responsible, just, and sustainable ways. Please bring food to share. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are welcome (i.e. dairy and eggs are OK). Please bring tableware too. Interactive Activity: Come and meet climate heroes who reach beyond themselves to take positive actions using their unique passions and skills. Climate change pushes us to move to the edges of our comfort zones and do things differently, including going bigger than 'recycling and saving water at home.' We will meet role models who use everything from poetry, art, music, gardening skills, and community organizing to those who stand with indigenous land and water protectors, and those bringing lawsuits, to create needed changes and speak truth to power. |
