light, grace, hope & peace...

​Friends of Portland Mennonite Church,

On Christmas Eve we collected an offering at our candlelight service to assist families, primarily in Syria, who are trying to stay in their homes and in their homeland. All of the money went to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) to be distributed through their international partners. We sent a check to MCC for $23,455. We sent other checks made out directly to MCC that totaled an additional $4500. I am tremendously grateful for your generosity.    ~Rod

The gospel of John says that when Jesus came into the world, people saw the light of God. Our partners in Syria tell us that in the midst of these times they cling to the mercy of God, and the work of MCC is one way they receive that mercy.
