A big thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday night for the TED show. It was an evening full of laughter and compassion for people of all ages. As winter sets in we wanted to remember the many in our neighbor-hood and around the world who struggle to have enough to eat.
Having lost his acting partner (to illness) to perform the play Jesus Stories; Faith forks and Fettuccine, Ted improvised and offered us an eclectic menu of scenes pulled from his years of being a performer. All of the scenes revolved around food and offered a reminder that Jesus welcomes us all to the table. Due to the generous bidders and wonderful donated pies as well as two beautiful quilts from Dorcas’ Needles and Stitches, the event raised $8446.59. This amount (less a few of the expenses not covered by the lecture fund) will be split three ways and will benefit the work of Anawim, the Portland Backpack program and Mennonite Central Committee. Thank you again for making this a wonderful evening. - The Faith Formation Core Ministry
